  Remove

Disconnect ground cable from battery.

Disconnect wiring harness plug (1) from hot film mass air flowmeter.

Loosen hose clamps (2) from air intake hose. Disconnect wiring harness plug (3) from intake air temperature sensor.

Remove air intake hose with intake air temperature sensor.

Loosen lower hose clamp (1) from hot film mass air flowmeter.

Remove hot film mass air flowmeter (2) from connection bellows – note installation position.

Caution

Do not disassemble hot film mass air flowmeter – remove and install as complete unit only. With external damage (e.g. deformation of grid), replace hot film mass air flowmeter.

  Install

Insert hot film mass air flowmeter (3) in connection bellows – ensure that hose connection is in good condition and correctly seated.

Attach air intake hose with intake air temperature sensor to hot film mass air flowmeter and to air cleaning housing – tightening torque 3.5 Nm / 2.6 lbf. ft. Attach hose clamps (2) to air intake hose – tightening torque 3.5 Nm / 2.6 lbf. ft. Attach wiring harness plug (3) to intake air temperature sensor and wiring harness plug (1) to hot film mass air flowmeter.

Ensure that hose connections are in good condition and correctly seated.

Connect ground cable to battery.
