SELECT ACTUATOR IDLE AIR  CONTR

Ignition ON

 

Engine OFF

 

Press key F5 in the system main menu, select the desired test using the arrow keys and confirm with YES.

Follow the instructions in the TECH 1 display.

 

Note:

The idle air stepper control switches at a frequency of 0.5 Hz.

The check is completed after a maximum of 30 s.

Actuation duration 1 s.

 

Noise check:

Clicking noise from idle speed stepper motor

Notes on Trouble - shooting:

Nominal Value:

Cause of Fault:

·   Disconnect plug from idle speed adjuster M 33

·   Ignition ON

·   Using multimeter, measure voltage at idle speed adjuster plug M 33 / RTBL (red / blue) to ground

 

11.5 to 13.5 V

 

·   Lead interruptions from control unit K 61 / Ter. 37 or from injectors relay K 43 / Ter. 8 to idle speed adjuster M 33 / RTBL (red / blue)

 

·   Ignition OFF

·   Disconnect control unit K 61 from wiring harness

·   Using multimeter, check from idle speed adjuster plug M 33 / BRBL (brown / blue) to control unit K 61 / Ter. 4 for passage and short circuit to ground

 

Passage

 

·   Short circuit or lead interruption from idle speed adjuster M 33 / BRBL (brown / blue) to control unit K 61 / Ter. 4

 

 

 

 

Nominal values are attained

 

·   Idle speed adjuster M 33 defective

·   Control unit K 61 defective
