Note:
Before adjusting the idle speed
and thus reprogramming the fixed values, it is useful if the amount that the
engine speed is going to be increased or decreased is known, as once
adjustment is completed, communication is broken off and has to be re -
established from scratch. If the newly programmed idle speed does not then
suit the requirements, the whole procedure has to be repeated.
It is simpler to first establish
the desired idle speed increase or decrease using the "engine speed
control" test described in "F8: ECU control", and then program
this fixed value using the adjustment procedure described below.
Ignition ON
Engine OFF
Press key F6 in the main
menu, select the desired test using the arrow keys and confirm with YES.
Follow the instructions in the TECH 1 display.
Note:
The idle speed can be changed
using the arrow keys:
· Arrow
key up: engine speed increases in steps of 50, 100, 150 rpm
· Arrow
key down; offset can be reduced again in steps of 50
The set idle speed is confirmed
with "ENTER".
When the ignition is switched
off and on again after programming is completed, the new idle speed is stored
in the EEPROM.
