Tank Vent Valve, Remove and Install
For clearer representation, E 4935 shows the tank vent valve
with the engine removed.
Remove
Remove water deflector – see operation "Water Deflector,
Remove and Install" in group "A". Remove intake plenum – see
operation "Intake Plenum, Remove and Install (X 25 XE, X 30 XE)" or
"Intake Plenum, Remove and Install (Y 26 SE, Y 32 SE)".
Note: When detaching
the hoses from the valve body, ensure that the valve connections
are not damaged. Damaged valves must be replaced.

Caution
Damaged valve supports can cause a vehicle fire as a result of
leaks.
Remove
Remove fastening bolt for tank vent valve (arrow) and ignition
cable bracket, disconnect wiring harness plug and tank vent valve
hose from tank vent valve. Close off tank vent valve hose to
activated carbon canister. Remove tank vent valve from guide.
Install
Insert tank vent valve into guide. Attach wiring harness plug
and hoses to tank vent valve. Install fastening bolt for ignition
cable bracket and tank vent valve. Install intake plenum –
see operation "Intake Plenum, Remove and Install (X 25 XE, X 30
XE)" or "Intake Plenum, Remove and Install (Y 26 SE, Y 32 SE)".
Install water deflector – see operation "Water Deflector,
Remove and Install" in group "A"
