Press key F5 in the system main menu, select the desired test using the arrow keys and confirm with Yes.

Follow the instructions in the TECH 1 display

 

Note:

The idle air adjuster is actuated at a frequency 1 Hz so that the idle air adjuster moves to and fro between the two end stops.

The test is completed after a maximum of 30 s

Hold idle air adjuster in hand:

clicking noise

 

When removed but still electrically connected, the idle air adjuster valve body can be seen moving between the two end stops

 

 

 

Notes on Trouble - shooting:

Nominal Value:

Cause of Fault:

·     Disconnect plug from idle air adjuster M33.

       Ignition On. Using multimeter, check voltage to ground at plug Ter. 1

greater than 11.5 V

·     Lead interruption from control unit K69 / Ter. 46 or

       -      from fuel pump relay K68 / Ter. 87 (Astra - F / Vectra / Cavalier),

       -      from relays K42 / Ter. 8, K44 / Ter. 4 (Omega - B)

       to idle air adjuster M33 / Ter. 1

·     Connection from idle air adjuster M33 / Ter. 2 to control unit K69 / Ter. 52 has a

       -      lead fracture

       -      short circuit to ground

       -      short circuit to battery voltage

 

·     Further possible faults:

 

·     Idle air adjuster M33 defective

·     Control unit K69 defective
