Engine Control Unit, Remove and Install (X 20 XEV)

Note:   Version with Simtec 56.5:

After replacing the engine control unit, the vehicle data must be programmed into the new engine control unit using TECH 2 – see corresponding operation in the Checking Procedures. The new engine control unit must be marked with the calibration code of the defective engine control unit before installation.

  Remove

Disconnect ground cable from battery.

Open relay frame cover.

Remove control unit (1) from relay frame.

Release plug (1) from control unit – press clip in direction of arrow.

Object Number: 2387840  Size: DEFAULT

Remove control unit from bracket – 3 fastening nuts (1).

  Install

Attach control unit to bracket – 3 fastening nuts (1).

Object Number: 2387552  Size: DEFAULT

Connect wiring harness plug (1) to control unit – ensure that plug contacts and seating are correct. Insert control unit in relay frame. Close relay frame cover. Connect ground cable to battery.
