Press key F5 in the system main menu, select the desired test using the arrow keys and confirm with Yes. Follow the instructions in the TECH 1 display

 

Note:

The checking spark plugs are actuated at a frequency of 1 Hz (actuation duration 5 ms).

The test is completed after a maximum of 30 s

 

Ignition sparks visible at both checking spark plugs

 

 

Notes on Trouble - shooting:

Nominal Value:

Cause of Fault:

·     Ignition On. Measure voltage to ground at

       -      control unit K69 / Ter. 47

       -      DIS ignition coil L2 / Ter. 3

greater than 11.5 V

·     Lead interruption from Ter. 15 to control unit K69 / Ter. 47 or to DIS ignition coil L2 / Ter. 3

·     Anti - theft warning system or immobilizer blocks voltage supply from Ter. 15

 

·     Connect primary signal to DIS ignition coil L2 / Ter. 1 or Ter. 2 using adapter and TECH 80 and start engine

 

 

 

Nominal values are attained

 

300 to 400 V

·     Interruption or short circuit to ground of lead from DIS ignition coil L2 / Ter. 1 or Ter. 2 to control unit K69 / Ter. 40 or Ter. 38

·     Control unit K69 defective

 

·     DIS ignition coil L2 defective

Resistance of DIS ignition coil L2 at room temperature

Primary side:

approx. 0.5 W

Secondary side:

approx. 7000 W
