Trouble-shooting for TECH 1 and Diagnostic Plug > < Abbreviations, Definitions

Checking with TECH 1

 

TECH 1, Connect to Vehicle

 

4 Before connecting the unit, observe the information in the TECH 1 Operating Instructions.

 

 

·   Ignition OFF

·   Connect TECH 1

·   Ignition ON

 

 

TECH 1 displays in the relevant language:

 

 

             OPEL/VAUXHALL

             OMEGA-B 1994 ECU       confirm with "YES"

             SELECT

             MODEL YEAR:199            enter "4" for 1994

 

 

and then confirm with "YES".

 

 

             STOP ENGINE

             TURN ON IGNITION

             (YES)                                   confirm with "YES"

 

 

Reject the following displays with "NO" until the following display appears:

 

 

             SELECT

             ELECTRONIC

             BODY SYSTEM?

             (YES/NO)

 

 

Confirm this question with "YES".

 

 

In the following menu, select the item

 

 

             ANTI THEFT WARN.       or

             ELEC. SUN ROOF            or

                                 CENT.DOOR LOCK

 

 

using the arrow keys and confirm with "ENTER".

 

 

The data stored in the control unit is then made available to TECH 1.

 

 

·   Compare PART NUMBERS with the part numbers table in the Checking Procedures, then confirm with "YES" key.

 

 

·   Compare PROG.CODE  with the Checking Procedures (table 3), then confirm with "YES" key.

 

 

If one or more trouble codes are stored, they are now displayed on TECH 1.

 

 

·   Note trouble codes.

 

 

Then confirm with "YES" until the following menu appears:

 

 

             SELECT MODE

             F0:DATA LIST

             F1:NOT USED

             F2:TROUBLE CODE

 

 

and then press "F0" key

 

 

Compare all displayed test step data with the following nominal values in sections 3.2, 4.2 or 6.2 F0:DATA LIST.

 

 

Actuate the "EXIT" key and, if necessary, select one of the following menu items

 

 

             F5:ACTUATOR TEST

             F6:NOT USED

             F7:PROGRAMMING

 

 

If there are deviations from the nominal values in the F0:DATA LIST, start trouble-shooting.
