·   Ignition ON

 

 

·   Vehicle illumination (low beam) ON

Low beam and tail lamp ON

·   Bulb(s) defective

 

 

·   Bulb socket corroded

 

 

·   Fuses F23/F30 (tail lamp) defective

 

 

·   Fuses F22/F31 (low beam) defective

·   Ignition OFF

 

 

·   Release and disconnect wiring harness plug from bulb control P25

 

 

·   Ignition ON

 

 

·   Measure voltage between wiring harness plug P25/Ter. 11 and ground and between wiring harness plug P25/ Ter. 13 and ground:

 

lower than 2 V

·   Lead from F23 to P25/Ter. 11 or from F30 to P25/Ter. 13 has short circuit to + battery voltage

·   Measure voltage between wiring harness plug P25/Ter. 6 and ground and between wiring harness plug P25/Ter. 7 and ground:

 

lower than 2 V

·   Lead from F22 to P25/Ter. 6 or from F31 to P25/Ter. 7 has short circuit to + battery voltage

·   Switch on parking lamps

 

 

·   Measure voltage between wiring harness plug P25/Ter. 11 and

higher than 11 V

·   Lead from F23 to P25/Ter. 11 or from F30 to P25/Ter. 13 is interrupted

     ground and between wiring harness plug P25/Ter. 13 and ground:

 

 

·   Fuse F23, F30 defective

·   Switch on low beam

 

 

·   Measure voltage between wiring harness plug P25/Ter. 6 and

higher than 11 V

·   Lead from F22 to P25/Ter. 6 or from F31 to P25/Ter. 7 is interrupted

     ground and between wiring harness plug P25/Ter. 7 and ground:

 

 

·   Fuse F22, F31 defective

·   Ignition OFF

 

 

·   Remove fuses F22 and F31

 

 

·   Ignition ON

 

 

·   Measure voltage between contact of fuse socket F22 and ground and between contact of fuse socket F31 and ground:

 

higher than 11 V

·   Lead Ter. 30 via lamp switch S2.1/Ter. 56 to F22 or F31 is interrupted

·   Ignition OFF

 

 

·   Remove fuses F23 and F30

 

 

·   Ignition ON

 

 

·   Measure voltage between contact of fuse socket F23 and ground and between contact of fuse socket F30 and ground:

 

higher than 11 V

·   Lead Ter. 30 via lamp switch S2.1/Ter. 58L to F23 or via lamp switch S2.1/Ter. 58R to F30 is interrupted

·   Ignition OFF

 

 

·   Insert fuses F22/F31 and F23/F30 again

 

 

 

·   Ignition ON

 

 

·   Connect following contacts in wiring harness plug P25 with each other:

 

 

 

·   Ter. 11 with Ter. 9:

Left tail lamp E2 ON

·   Tail lamp bulb E2 defective

 

 

·   Lead from P25/Ter. 9 to E2 is interrupted

 

 

·   Lead from E2 to ground is interrupted

 

·   Ter. 13 with Ter. 10:

Right tail lamp E5 ON

·   Tail lamp bulb E5 defective

 

 

·   Lead from P25/Ter. 10 to E5 is interrupted

 

 

·   Lead from E5 to ground is interrupted

 

·   Ter. 6 with Ter. 14:

Right low beam E9 ON

·   Left low beam bulb E5 defective

 

 

·   Lead from P25/Ter. 14 to E9 is interrupted

 

 

·   Lead from E9 to ground is interrupted

 

·   Ter. 7 with Ter. 15:

Right low beam E10 ON

·   Right low beam bulb E5 defective

 

 

·   Lead from P25/Ter. 15 to E10 is interrupted

 

 

 

·   Lead from E10 to ground is interrupted

·   Switch off light

 

 

·   Ignition OFF

 

 

·   Remove jumpers in wiring harness plug P25.

 

 

·   Connect wiring harness plug to bulb control P25 again

 

 

·   Remove instrument assembly

 

 

·   Release 26-pin wiring harness plug and disconnect from MID

 

 

·   Measure voltage between 26-pin MID wiring harness plug Ter. 17 and ground:

lower than 2 V

·   Lead from P25/Ter. 1 to 26-pin MID wiring harness plug Ter. 17 has short circuit to + battery voltage

 

 

 

·   Remove fuse F22

 

 

·   Switch on low beam

 

 

·  Ignition ON

 

 

·   Measure voltage between 26-pin MID wiring harness plug Ter. 17 and ground:

higher than 9 V

·   Lead from P25/Ter. 1 to 26-pin MID wiring harness plug Ter. 17 is interrupted

 

 

 

 

 

If nominal values are attained:

 

 

·   Bulb control P25 defective

 

 

·   MID defective
