Function

The ignition circuit (Ter. 15), the switch condition of the door contacts, and the voltage supply to the central door locking system control unit are monitored.

If the voltage to these systems changes when the immobiliser is activated, the current supply to the fuel pump, starter and engine control unit (Ter. 15) is interrupted.

The immobiliser control unit interrupts these feed lines for approx. 30 minutes.

With the infrared transmitter, however, the immobilizer can always be deactivated immediately.

If the vehicle voltage supply should fail, e. g. when the battery is disconnected, the electronic immobiliser automatically returns to the operating status that was prevalent at the time of disconnection on reinstatement of power.

Switch on:                With the vehicle key or the infrared transmitter by locking the vehicle.

(activate)                  (Function check: LED in "interior monitor oft" switch illuminates briefly).

Switch off:                Only with the infrared transmitter. If the vehicle is mechanically unlocked with

(deactivate)              the immobiliser activated, the first infrared command from the infrared transmitter deactivates the immobiliser. The central locking serve motors are not actuated.

Note:

As there is no other way to switch off the immobiliser, spare batteries for the infrared transmitter should always be kept at hand.
