Instrument Panel Wiring Harness, Remove and
Install Instrument Panel Wiring Harness Lead Routing in Engine
Compartment
Remove
Remove battery. Detach windscreen wiper arms. Water deflector
– see operation "Water Deflector, Remove and Install" in
group "A". Right side turn signal – see operation "Side Turn
Signal, Remove and Install, Bulb – Side Turn Signal,
Replace". Left headlamp – see operation "Headlamp, Remove and
Install". Release listed wiring harness plugs and detach or
separate (depending on vehicle equipment, not all plugs are
present).

Remove

Wiring harness plugs from wiring harnesses: Motronic with AT
(blue) Motronic (white) engine (black)

Control unit, cruise control
|

Coolant residue sensor
|
If necessary, separate cable ties and pull wiring harness
forwards to bulkhead.

Release further wiring harness plugs
and detach (see instrument panel wiring harness):
- Control unit, automatic transmission
- Rear receiver wiring harness
- Control unit, anti-theft warning system
- Brake lamp switches
- Cruise control switch
- Connection to body wiring harness
- Antenna
- Recirculating air valve, coolant valve
- AC fan relay
- Clutch control switch
- Pedal position sensor
Unscrew relay frame behind instrument panel (2 bolts).
