Note:

This note also applies to the following test steps: 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 21, 23 and 25.

If the TECH 1 displays WARNING, the oil level is currently too low or a fault has occurred in the circuit. The malfunction is recognized directly with ignition ON; when travelling, a certain amount of time elapses (varying between 5 s and 125 s for the different data list parameters) until the fault is stored. If the TECH 1 displays WARNING this can be quitted using the "R" key in the wash / wipe lever. The TECH 1 then displays WARNING QUIT. The fault is still present.

If the TECH 1 displays HISTORY WARNING, the oil level was too low at an earlier time or a fault has occurred in the circuit. At present, however, the oil level circuit is intact (loose contact). After the fault is eliminated, HISTORY WARNING can be deleted using TECH 1 mode F 4: CLEAR CODES.
