·   Check whether personal key 1 jams mechanically

 

not pressed

·   Personal key 1 or seat panelling mechanically faulty

 

·   Ignition OFF, disconnect battery negative terminal

·   Remove driver's seat

·   Release 9-pin plug and disconnect from control unit K103

·   Using multimeter, measure resistance in 9-pin plug between Ter. 3 (black) and Ter. 1 (colourless)

     Personal key 1 not pressed:

 

higher than 200 kW

 

·   Personal key 1 (S40.12) defective (switch contact does not open)

·   Lead short circuit between 9-pin plug and S40.12

 

 

·   Using multimeter, measure resistance in 9-pin plug between Ter. 3 (black) and Ter. 1 (colourless)

     Personal key 1 pressed:

lower than 2 W

·   S40.12 defective (switch contact does not close)

·   Lead interruption between 9-pin plug and S40.12

 

 

·   Using multimeter, measure resistance in 9-pin plug between Ter. 1 (colourless) and Ter. 3 (black)

 

higher than 200 kW

 

·   Short circuit to ground in lead between S40.12 and 9-pin plug Ter. 1 or Ter. 3

 

 

Further possible faults:

 

·   Control unit K 103 defective
