Notes on Trouble-shooting:
Nominal Value:
Cause of fault:
(If nominal value is not
attained)
If outside mirror adjustment is not possible
· Eliminate fault in driver's outside
mirror circuit according to section 5.5. Then proceed with the following
trouble-shooting if necessary
· Separate wiring harness connection X11,
body/ driver's door (bayonet catch)
· Ignition ON
· Carry out F5:ACTUATOR TEST, test step 2
· During check, measure voltage in wiring
harness coupling X11 between Ter. 20 and Ter. 23 with multimeter
higher than 10 V
· Interruption or short circuit to ground
between wiring harness coupling X11 and 26-pin wiring harness plug of control
unit K103
· Ignition OFF
· Remove mirror adjustment switch S68
from driver's door handle
· Release 9-pin wiring harness connection
for mirror adjustment switch and separate
· Set outside mirror switch for driver/
co-driver to driver
· Using multimeter, measure resistance in
9-pin wiring harness coupling for mirror adjustment switch
between
Ter. 8 and Ter. 5, pressing outside mirror horizontal/ vertical
rocker switch upwards
lower than 2 W
· Lead interruption or mirror adjustment
switch S68 defective
between
Ter. 8 and Ter. 6, pressing outside mirror horizontal/ vertical
rocker switch downwards
lower than 2 W
· Lead interruption or mirror adjustment
switch S68 defective
· Install mirror adjustment switch again
· Ignition OFF, disconnect battery
negative terminal
· Remove driver's seat
· Release 26-pin wiring harness plug from
control unit and disconnect
· Using multimeter, measure resistance in
26-pin wiring harness plug between Ter. 22 and Ter. 13
50 W -
80 W
· Interruption in driver's door wiring
harness between wiring harness plug X11 and motor M30.1 for driver's outside
mirror
Further possible faults:
· Motor M30.1 for driver's outside mirror
