F2: TROUBLE CODE TABLE - Trouble Code 18 DRIVER SIDE MIRROR CIRCUIT > < Explanation of Tables

Table 1, Diagnostic Plug XD and Voltage Supply, Check

 

 

TECH 1 refers to table 1 if the unit is correctly connected, but data cannot be received from control unit K103. In this case, perform the following tests:

 

 

·   Carry out TECH 1 self-test as described in the TECH 1 Operating Instructions.

 

Important: For this test, TECH 1 must be connected to the battery with the battery connection lead.

 

·   Check DLC adapter being used as described in the TECH 1 Operating Instructions.

 

If data still cannot be received after the self-test, check the

 

·   diagnostic plug XD

·   voltage supply of the control unit K103

·   ground connection of the control unit K103

 

according to table 1.

Diagnostic plug XD /  8-pin wiring harness plug for control unit K103:

Bidirectional data lead K

XD/ Ter. 7

8-pin wiring harness plug Ter. 6

Disconnect battery negative terminal, remove driver's seat, release 8-pin wiring harness plug "voltage supply" and disconnect from control unit K103

 

lower than 2 W

·   Lead interruption between XD/ Ter. 7 and 8-pin wiring harness plug Ter. 6 for control unit K103

·   Control unit K103 defective

Voltmeter, range 20 V, DC

8-pin wiring harness plug for control unit K103:

Voltage supply Ter. 30

Ter. 1 and Ter. 3/ ground

Connect battery negative terminal Ignition OFF

higher than 11.5 V

·   Battery voltage too low

·   Lead interruption between Ter. 30 and 8-pin wiring harness plug Ter. 1 or Ter. 3 for control unit K103

·   K103 defective

8-pin wiring harness plug for control unit K103:

Ground

Ter. 2 and Ter. 5 / ground

Ignition OFF

·   Transfer resistance between 8-pin wiring harness plug Ter. 2 or Ter. 5 for K103 and ground too high

·   Lead interruption between 8-pin wiring harness plug Ter. 2 or Ter. 5 for K103 and ground
