Adaptation of Speed - dependent Volume Control, Radio Units SC 804CDC, CD 300RDS to Vehicle - specific Odometdr Signal
Vehicles:
Corsa - B, Astra - F, Vectra / Cavalier, Calibra, Frontera, Omega - A / Carlton, Omega - B, Senator - B, in which the odometer signal is present in the radio wiring harness plug
Condition:
All SC 804CDC, CD 300RDS radio units are adapted as standard to the vehicle - specific odometer signal.
All radio units supplied by P&A are set to "pulse 2" (corresponding to Table, page 2). For Omega - A / Carlton, Omega - B vehicles and all vehicles with FWD up to and including 1993, adapt the speed - dependent volume control to the odometer signal after installation of the radio unit, as otherwise malfunctions in the volume increase may occur.
Remedy:
Automatic volume control - adaptation to odometer signal
Adjustment: Switch off radio. Hold down "SML" button and one of the buttons "1", "2" or "3" according to the following table and switch on radio. Hold down "SML" button and button "1", "2" or "3" for a further 3 seconds until confirmation sound is heard. The radio returns to normal operation.
Adapt radio to odometer signal according to following table:
FWD = Front wheel drive RWD = Rear wheel drive
Automatic volume control - Individual presetting for customer request
Pressing the SML button - for longer than 3 seconds - and the search button allows five different presettings for the volume increase to be selected. The display shows "VOL OFF", "VOL 1" to "VOL 5". The setting ex works is "VOL 2" To store the desired setting, press the SML button for longer than 3 seconds again until confirmation sound is heard.
Note:
If 10 seconds elapse without a button being pressed while setting, the setting procedure is aborted prematurely.
