Unable to switch off fog lamps with fog lamp switch.

 

Cause:

 

Production Solution:

As of modelyear `96 a new relay is in production.

 

Special part:

S-10379

 

Remedy:

Install new relay, Cat. /Part No.12 38 611 /(03 447 012) request

relay socket and contacts from Service Dept.

-      Cut the wire "FP 1" (black-blue) between "Switch-Light" (1) cavity 6 and input of fuse No. 28.

-      Take the wire end from the "Switch-Light" (1) and put it in a  new relay-socket (3) ZF 9-8 (green) cavity 2.

-      Take the wire end from input of fuse No. 28 and put it in the  new relay-socket cavity 8.

-      Route a new wire (colour=black) from output of fuse No. 2 in the new relay-socket cavity 4.

-      Route a new wire (colour=brown) from ground (for examlpe ground receiver with a ring terminal) in the new relay-socket cavity 6.

In this case the rear fog lamps are fused with fuse No. 2 AND fuse No. 28. 1     -      Switch-Light 2     -      ground receiver with ring terminal 3     -      new relay-socket   All fuses in the fusebox: A    -      fuse input B    -      fuse output
