Quick Measurement Procedure For quick evaluation of damage on the vehicle underbody, instructions are given in this group for the usage of an economical test method with the Telescopic Measuring Instrument MKM-642-A. Its usage is quite simple. Exchangeable measuring points are used to locate quickly actual values at different measuring locations. Removal of components or trailer hitch (if present) is not necessary. Checking the axle geometry gives further information on the extent of the damage - see operation "Camber, Toe-out and Toe-in, Check" in group "E". Lifting of the outer spring winding from its seat is also an apparent sign of deformation of the outrigger or frame side member.
