Paint Stripes - Rear Quarter Panel, Replace (Model F35)     Remove, Disconnect      •  Partially remove door seal for C-pillar.   •  Heat damaged adhesive foil (1) with hot air drier and remove.   •  Remove protruding residue of paint stripes with knife.       Clean    Clean adhesive surfaces (silicone remover) and rectify any paint damage (touch-up pencil).

 

Install, Connect      •  Trim paint stripes as shown in illustration (I).   •  Detach protective paper (adhesive face) and moisten adhesive face of paint stripe with water (3 drops of detergent to 1 litre of tap water).   •  Position Paint Stripes Starting at Seal (Arrow).   •  Fit paint stripes with spatula (eliminate creasing and air bubbles) and fold over at the flange edges.   •  Detach protective paper (transportation protection).   •  Attach C-pillar door seal.     Notice:  Only process paint stripes at temperatures exceeding 18 ° C.   Dry paint stripes with hot air drier (maximum 60 ° C) for approx. 2 minutes to ensure optimal adhesion. Puncture any bubbles with needle and smooth away with spatula.
