Deployment of Seat Belt Tensioners on Rear Impact Collisions  

The programming of the airbag control unit (type SAB 6) in the Vectra-B and Omega-B models has been modified as of Model Year '98 to deploy the front seat pyrotechnical seat belt tensioners in the event of medium to severe rear impact collisions. This measure considerably improves the occupant protection system.
