Check: Short Circuit in Wiring Harness  

 

 

•  Ignition OFF  

•  Disconnect wiring harness connector from:  
X93 Control Unit - Airbag & Airbag Unit - Codriver 2P  

•  Ignition ON  

•  Diagnostic Tester Data List Parameter  
PASS. SQUIB RES.  
 
 
 

greater than 6 Ohm  

 

Yes: T02  

No: E05  

T02  

Check: Interruption in Wiring Harness  

 

 

•  Connect fused jumper wire to:  
X93 Control Unit - Airbag & Airbag Unit - Codriver 2P  
Wiring Harness Connector (wiring harness side) Terminal 2  
&  
X93 Control Unit - Airbag & Airbag Unit - Codriver 2P  
Wiring Harness Connector (wiring harness side) Terminal 1  

•  Diagnostic Tester Data List Parameter  
PASS. SQUIB RES.  
 
 
 

less than 1 Ohm  

 

Yes: T03  

No: E04  

T03  

Check: Short to Voltage/Ground of Signal Circuit  

 

 

•  Measure voltage between the following terminals:  
X93 Control Unit - Airbag & Airbag Unit - Codriver 2P  
Wiring Harness Connector (wiring harness side) Terminal 1, 2  
&  
Ground  

Note:  

Do not remove fused jumper wire  
 
 
 

0.5 ... 2.5 V  

 

Yes: E01  

No: T04  

T04  

Check: Short to Voltage/Ground of Signal Circuit  

 

 

•  Measure voltage between the following terminals:  
X93 Control Unit - Airbag & Airbag Unit - Codriver 2P  
Wiring Harness Connector (wiring harness side) Terminal 1, 2  
&  
Ground  

Note:  

Do not remove fused jumper wire  
 
 
 

less than 0.5 V  

 

Yes: E02  

No: E03

Wiring Harness Connector Terminal 3

X93 Control Unit - Airbag & Airbag Unit - Codriver 2P  
Wiring Harness Connector (wiring harness side) Terminal 2  

or  

•  Short circuit to ground between:  
X90 Instrument Panel & Control Unit - Airbag 30P  
Wiring Harness Connector Terminal 4  
&  
X93 Control Unit - Airbag & Airbag Unit - Codriver 2P  
Wiring Harness Connector (wiring harness side) Terminal 1  

or  

•  Defective component:  
K31 Control Unit - Airbag

•  Short circuit to voltage between:  
X90 Instrument Panel & Control Unit - Airbag 30P  
Wiring Harness Connector Terminal 3  
&  
X93 Control Unit - Airbag & Airbag Unit - Codriver 2P
