Wheel Bearing Unit, Measure Radial and Lateral Runout > < Technical Data (Group F) - Recommended Torque Values

 

Checking and Adjusting Operations  

Tilt Play of Wheel Bearing Unit, Check  

Object Number: 616196  Size: DEFAULT  Inspect   

If there is noticeable play on an installed wheel, measure as follows:  

Disconnect rear wheel. In version with drum brake: disconnect brake drum - see operation "Brake Drum, Remove and Install" in group "H".  

Screw KM-468-A (1) to brake disc or to wheel bearing unit. Install Gauge MKM-571-B (2) with gauge holder and magnetic foot (3) to traverse control arm or cover plate.  

Position probe of gauge at lower edge of brake disc or wheel bearing unit. Check play by levering slightly with KM-468-A.  

Max. permissible tilt play = 0.3 mm. The wheel bearing unit must be replaced if this value is exceeded - see operation "Wheel Bearing Unit, Remove and Install".

Object Number: 616192  Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

Detach Lever KM-468-A and Dial Gauge MKM-571-B with dial gauge holder and magnetic base.  

In version with drum brake: install brake drum - see operation "Brake Drum, Remove and Install" in group "H".  

Attach rear wheel.  

Object Number: 616199  Size: DEFAULT  Tighten (Torque)   

Wheel to wheel hub - 110 Nm / 81 lbf. ft.
