Rear Axle, Rear Wheel Suspension  

Repair Information  

On removal of vehicle wheels, mark position to wheel hub. This mark must be taken into account on installation. Always tighten wheel bolts with a torque of 110 Nm / 81 lbf. ft. On installation, no dirt may be located between brake disc and wheel hub. The contact surfaces must be plane and free of burrs.  

Before disconnecting the vehicle battery in Vauxhall vehicles, the power sounder must be disarmed: disconnect the vehicle battery within 15 seconds of switching off the ignition.  

Always use new nuts when installing the wheel bearing unit. The contact surface and thread in the wheel spindle and wheel bearing unit must be free from grease, paint or impurities.  

When disposing of brake fluid the relevant environmental protection regulations apply.  

Before processing adhesives and sealing agents, etc. check the expiry date. Never process products whose expiry date has lapsed.

Determine actual value on axle measuring equipment. Observe instructions for use and manufacturer's specifications.  

Complete alignment measurement card.  

Notice: 

The camber at the rear axle is adjusted to the stated value during manufacturing. It is only possible to adjust/correct the track during servicing.

Chassis alignment values can be found in the "Chassis Alignment Values" brochure valid for particular model year.  

 

 

Repair Information (Continued)  

Special Service Tools are available via the "Opel/Vauxhall Special Service Tools" catalogue, all other necessary tools and equipment are available via the "Opel/Vauxhall Workshop Equipment" catalogue.  

Wiring harnesses and wiring troughs, which have to be loosened or removed during repair work, must be refastened in their original places using genuine Aftersales parts (cable straps, clips, wiring trough brackets, etc.).
