Thermostat, Remove and Install (16 LZ2 and 20 NEJ)  

Notice: 

For warranty reasons, the thermostat is only supplied together with coolant outlet connection.  

  Remove, Disconnect   

Lower coolant hose from radiator - collect escaping coolant. Remove upper coolant hose (2) from coolant outlet flange (1). Remove coolant outlet flange (1) with thermostat from thermostat housing.     Clean    Remove gasket remnants and clean sealing surfaces.     Install, Connect    Attach coolant outlet connection (1) with thermostat and new gasket to thermostat housing - 8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft. Attach upper coolant hose (2) at coolant outlet connection (1) and lower coolant hose to radiator.   Top up cooling system - see operations "Cooling System, Top up and Bleed" and "Cooling System, Check for Leaks".
