Piston with Con-rod, Remove and Install reinstallation > < con rods

 

Con-rod Bearing, Replace  

Object Number: 616191  Size: DEFAULT  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove oil pan - see operation "Oil Pan, Remove and Install".  

Object Number: 616201  Size: DEFAULT  Important!   

Mark order of con-rod bearing caps (1) - bead (2) of con-rod bearing cap faces flywheel side.  

The mating surfaces of the con-rods and con-rod bearing caps form an individual fit and therefore must not under any circumstances be exchanged or damaged.  

To prevent damage - do not lay con-rods and con-rod bearing caps on broken surfaces.  

Object Number: 616191  Size: DEFAULT  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove con-rod bearing cap from con-rod.  

Press con-rod bearing out of con-rod and con-rod bearing cap.  

Object Number: 2396045  Size: DEFAULT

 

 

Object Number: 616195  Size: DEFAULT  Clean   

Clean con-rod bearing caps and con-rod bearing journals.  

Object Number: 616192  Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

Lightly coat new con-rod bearing shells with engine oil and insert in con-rod and con-rod bearing cap.  

Note order of con-rod bearing caps (1) - note marks.  

Install con-rod bearing caps with new fastening bolts on con-rod - con-rod bearing cap bead (2) faces flywheel side - tightening torque 35 Nm / 26 lbf. ft. + 45 ° + 15 ° .

Install oil pan - see operation "Oil Pan, Remove and Install".
