The following illustration shows the allocation of the engine numbers to the individual engine types.  

I  X 16 SZR, 16 LZ2, 20 NEJ, X 16 XEL, X 18 XE and X 20 XEV  

II  X 25 XE  

III  X 17 DT (TC4 EE 1)  

Notice: 

With the introduction of the Vectra-B, all Isuzu diesel engines no longer have their abbreviation (e.g. TC4 EE 1) embossed on the flange of the injection pump in the cylinder block as previously, but now have the familiar Adam Opel AG code designations (e.g. X 17 DT) - see also TI-C-38, J-255, dated 1/1995. To avoid confusion between diesel engines (Opel - Isuzu), the code designation (e.g. TC4 EE 1) will also be listed for Isuzu diesel engines in publications. The meanings of the individual code designations are explained in section 10.2.
