Oil Circuit Heat Exchanger In Model Year '98, the oil filter casing in all direct injection vehicles has been modified. The heat exchanger (2) is now no longer integrated into the oil filter casing (1), but is located directly in the air current for improved cooling. This has led to a change in the heat exchanger design. Both the engine oil and the coolant now run (separately) through the heat exchanger.
