Oil Intake Pipe, Remove and Install reinstallation > < Heat Exchanger, Remove and Install (up to MY '98)

 

Oil Pan, Remove and Install  

Object Number: 616191  Size: DEFAULT  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove lower engine compartment cover.  

Remove oil drain bolt - collect escaping engine oil.  

Disconnect wiring harness plug (1) from dynamic oil level control sensor and disconnect wiring harness plug (2) from oil temperature sensor.  

Detach oil pan (3) from transmission, cylinder block and timing case.  

Object Number: 616195  Size: DEFAULT  Clean   

Remove gasket remnants and clean sealing surfaces.

Object Number: 616192  Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

Apply a bead of adhesive sealing compound (black) to joints (arrows) of timing case and rear crankshaft bearing cap.  

Attach oil pan to transmission, cylinder block and timing case with new gasket.  

Installation sequence:  

 

1  Loosely tighten all fastening bolts  

2  Tighten fastening bolts on cylinder block and timing case - tightening torque 20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft.,  

3  Tighten fastening bolts on transmission casing - tightening torque (M8) 20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft. and (M10) 40 Nm / 30 lbf. ft.  

 

 
Connect wiring harness plugs to dynamic oil level control sensor and oil temperature sensor.  

Install oil drain bolt with new seal ring - tightening torque 10 Nm / 7.5 lbf. ft.  

Install lower engine compartment cover.  

Top up to specified oil filling quantity. Check engine oil level; correct if necessary.
