Engine Control Unit, Remove and Install (as of MY '98)
Remove, Disconnect
Remove water deflector - see operation "Water Deflector, Remove and Install" in group "A".
Release cover for engine control unit (1) and place to one side.
Release both wiring harness plugs (2) in direction of arrow and detach from engine control unit.
Remove, Disconnect
Unclip engine control unit from brackets (arrows) and remove from installation slot (upwards).
Important!
After replacing the engine control unit, the vehicle data must be programmed into the new engine control unit using the TECH 2 - see corresponding operation in the Checking Procedures.
Install, Connect
Insert engine control unit in installation slot and fasten.
Attach and lock both wiring harness plugs - ensure that plug contacts and plug seating are correct.
Attach cover hood for engine control unit.
Install water deflector - see operation "Water Deflector, Remove and Install" in group "A".
Remove, Disconnect
