Valve Stem Seals, Replace (Cylinder Head Installed) Required Special Service Tools from Valve Compressor Device MKM-889.

 Important! Ensure, without fail, that the oil return bore holes in the cylinder head are carefully covered during assembly.
 Remove, Disconnect Remove camshaft, rocker arm and thrust piece - see operation "Camshaft and Rocker Arm, Remove and Install (cylinder head installed)".
 Install, Connect Disconnect spark plug connectors and remove spark plugs with KM-194-E. Screw compressed air adapter (4) into spark plug thread and apply compressed air. Secure joint (3) to lever arm and fit on camshaft housing with the assembly shaft (2) and angle (1). Notice: When replacing valve stem seals for the exhaust valves, install assembly bridge onto intake side. When replacing valve stem seals for the inlet valves, install assembly bridge onto exhaust side.
Remove, Disconnect Secure removal head (5) on lever arm - ensure that when pressing down the removal head, the valve spring is compressed parallel to the valve axle. Place removal head (5) on upper valve head, compress valve spring and remove valve cotters with suitable pliers. Relieve tension on valve spring and remove together with upper valve head.
Important! Do not use a magnetic tool to remove the valve cotters. |

Remove, Disconnect Remove valve stem seals with KM-840 (1).
Install, Connect Push assembly sleeve (3) supplied onto valve stem and lightly coat with clean engine oil. Slide new valve stem seal (2) over mounting sleeve and carefully drive in to the stop by lightly tapping with KM-352. |

Install, Connect Install thrust piece (2) in assembly head (3). Insert valve keepers (1) with the wide side in direction of plastic ring into assembly head and clamp securely by sliding plastic ring (4) forwards. Secure assembly head on lever arm (5) - ensure that when pressing down the assembly head, the valve spring is compressed parallel to the valve axle. Place valve spring with upper valve head on cylinder head and compress with assembly head. Allow the valve cotters to engage by gently moving the assembly head back and forth. Relieve tension on valve spring and ensure correct seating of valve cotters.
Remove, Disconnect Remove installation shaft, angle and compressed air adapter. |

Install, Connect Install spark plugs with KM-194-E - tightening torque 25 Nm / 18 lbf. ft. Connect spark plug connectors. Install thrust piece, rocker arm and camshaft - see operation "Camshaft and Rocker Arm, Remove and Install (cylinder head installed)".
