Oil Pump, Remove and Install (20 NEJ)  

  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove rear toothed belt cover - see operation "Rear Toothed Belt Cover, Remove and Install (16 LZ2 and 20 NEJ)".   Remove upper part of oil pan - see operation "Upper Part of Oil Pan, Remove and Install (20 NEJ)".   Detach oil intake pipe (1) from oil pump and from crankshaft bearing bridge.   Remove oil filter (2) from oil pump with KM-726-A. Disconnect wiring harness plug from oil pressure switch.   Remove oil pump (3) from cylinder block.   Edge out seal ring from oil pump with suitable tool - ensure that sealing surfaces are not damaged.     Clean    Remove gasket remnants and clean sealing surfaces.

  Install, Connect   

Attach oil pump with new gasket to cylinder block - 6 Nm / 4 lbf. ft.   Apply a bead of adhesive sealing compound (black) to the joints of the oil pump.   Coat sealing lip of new seal ring lightly with silicone grease (white) and press into oil pump with KM-693-A (1) - use fastening bolt and washer of toothed belt drive gear.   Connect wiring harness plug to oil pressure switch.   Install oil filter in oil pump - 15 Nm / 11 lbf. ft.   Attach oil intake pipe to oil pump and to crankshaft bearing bridge - tightening torque 8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft.   Install upper part of oil pan - see operation "Upper Part of Oil Pan, Remove and Install (20 NEJ)".   Install rear toothed belt cover - see operation "Rear Toothed Belt Cover, Remove and Install (16 LZ2 and 20 NEJ)".
