Fuel Pressure, Check  

  Important!   

Fuel escapes - collect escaping fuel in a suitable container. Observe safety precautions and national legislation. Fuel system is pressurised.     Remove, Disconnect    Open relay frame cover. Remove fuel pump relay (1). Start engine for at least 5 sec - reduce fuel pressure.   Remove air intake cover from throttle valve injection housing - note seal ring.     Install, Connect    Install Fuel Pressure Gauge MKM-588 (2) with Adapters MKM-588-1 and MKM-588-2 in fuel supply line. Install fuel pump relay.     Inspect    Start engine and allow to run at idle speed, nominal value: see relevant "Checking Procedures".

  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove fuel pump relay. Start engine for at least 5 sec - reduce fuel pressure.  

Remove Fuel Pressure Gauge MKM-588 with Adapters MKM-588-1 and MKM-588-2 from fuel supply line.  

  Install, Connect   

Install fuel supply line at throttle valve injection housing - 15 Nm / 11 lbf. ft.  

Notice: 

Before assembling components of the intake system (hoses, connections, etc.), they must be cleaned of any possible contamination (grease, oil, etc.). When tightening the hose clamps, be sure to observe exactly the tightening torque of 3.5 Nm / 2.6 lbf. ft.  

  Important!   

It is only ensured that the intake system is free of leaks, thus ensuring operational safety of the engine, if the hose clamps are tightened correctly to the prescribed tightening torque.  

  Install, Connect   

Attach air intake cover to throttle valve injection housing - ensure correct seating of the seal ring.  

Install fuel pump relay - ensure plug contacts are correct. Close relay frame cover.
