Radiator (With Air Conditioning), Remove and Install  

  Remove, Disconnect   

Disconnect lower coolant hose (3) from radiator - collect escaping coolant.   Remove coolant hose (1) from radiator. Unclip coolant hose (5) out of retaining clips on radiator.   Remove upper coolant hose (6) from radiator.   For version with automatic transmission: remove fluid cooler lines (2) and (4) from radiator - collect escaping transmission fluid and seal openings.   Disconnect wiring harness plug (9) from fan motor, wiring harness plug (7) from AC thermoswitch and wiring harness plug (8) from fan motor thermoswitch.

  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove front panelling - see operation "Front Panelling, Remove and Install" in group "A".   For 16 LZ2 and 20 NEJ: unclip power steering cooling coil (1) out of bracket.   Detach fastening bolts (arrows) from radiator and fastening bolt from condenser bracket (on side). Remove condenser with auxiliary fan housing and auxiliary fan from radiator. Detach left and right retaining brackets (2) from air deflector panel and carefully remove radiator with fan housing and fan motor upwards.   Transfer parts when replacing radiator.     Install, Connect    Carefully insert radiator with fan housing and fan motor into lower mounts. Attach radiator with both retaining brackets (2) on right and left to air deflector panel. Attach condenser with auxiliary fan housing and auxiliary fan to radiator. Clip power steering coolant coil (1) into bracket.   Install front panelling - see operation "Front Panelling, Remove and Install" in group "A".

  Install, Connect   

Connect wiring harness plug (9) to fan motor, wiring harness plug (7) to air conditioning thermoswitch and wiring harness plug (8) to fan motor thermoswitch. Attach coolant hose (1) to radiator. Clip coolant hose (5) into retaining clip on radiator.   Attach upper coolant hose (6) and lower coolant hose (3) to radiator.   Version with automatic transmission: Attach oil cooling lines (2) and (4) with new seal rings to radiator - 25 Nm / 18 lbf. ft.     Inspect    Top up cooling system - see operations "Cooling System, Top up and Bleed" and "Cooling System, Check for Leaks".   Check oil level in automatic transmission - see operation "Transmission Fluid Level, Check and Correct" in group "K".
