Throttle Valve Injection Housing, Remove and Install  

  Important!   

Fuel escapes - collect escaping fuel in a suitable container. Observe safety precautions and national legislation. Fuel system is pressurised.     Remove, Disconnect    Remove fuel pump relay - see operation "Fuel Pump Relay, Remove and Install". Start engine for at least 5 sec - fuel pressure reduction.   Remove air intake cover - note gasket.   Detach wiring harness plug (1) from injection valve, wiring harness plug (2) from throttle valve potentiometer and wiring harness plug (6) from idle speed stepper motor.   Remove fuel feed line (3) and fuel return line (4) from throttle body.   Remove throttle valve actuating rod (7).   For X 16 SZR: detach vacuum hose (5) for intake pipe pressure sensor from throttle valve injection housing.   Remove fastening nuts (8) and remove throttle valve injection housing from intake manifold.

  Clean   

Remove gasket remnants and clean sealing surfaces.   Notice:  Before assembling components of the intake system (hoses, connections, etc.), they must be cleaned of any possible contamination (grease, oil, etc.). When tightening the hose clamps, be sure to observe exactly the tightening torque of 3.5 Nm / 2.6 lbf. ft.     Important!    It is only ensured that the intake system is free of leaks, thus ensuring operational safety of the engine, if the hose clamps are tightened correctly to the prescribed tightening torque.     Install, Connect    Attach throttle valve injection housing with new gasket to intake manifold. Insert fastening nuts with bolt locking compound (red). The installation time including torque check is max. 5 min. - tightening torque 22 Nm / 16 lbf. ft.   For X 16 SZR: Connect vacuum hose for intake pipe pressure sensor to vacuum connection (1).

  Install, Connect   

Attach throttle valve actuator. Attach fuel supply line and fuel return line to throttle body - tightening torque 15 Nm / 11 lbf. ft.  

Attach wiring harness plug to injector, throttle valve potentiometer and to idle speed stepper motor.  

Install air intake cover - note gasket.  

Install fuel pump relay - see operation "Fuel Pump Relay, Remove and Install".
