Location of Components (as of 10/98) - Vehicles with Supply Voltage via Fuse Box in Instrument Panel > < Loudspeakers, Remove and Install (up to 10/98)

Navigation Control Unit, Remove and Install  

Object Number: 616201 Size: DEFAULT  Important!   

Remove CD before working on navigation control unit.  

Switch off ignition and remove fuse.  

Vehicles with supply voltage via relay box in engine compartment:  
Remove fuse in engine compartment relay box (F500).  

Vehicles with supply voltage via fuse box for instrument panel:  
Remove fuse F22 (20A) from fuse box in vehicle interior.  

Object Number: 616191 Size: DEFAULT  Remove, Disconnect   

Unscrew bracket from navigation control unit (arrows, 2 bolts) and pull control unit forward.  

Detach wiring harness plug.  

Remove navigation control unit from bracket (release 2 screws on side).  

Object Number: 2400152 Size: DEFAULT

 

 

Object Number: 616192 Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

Connect wiring harness plug to navigation control unit.  

Insert fuses. Insert CD in navigation control unit and switch on ignition.  

Object Number: 616196 Size: DEFAULT  Inspect   

Perform operational test.  

Object Number: 616192 Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

Insert and fasten control unit in bracket (2 screws on side).  

Bolt bracket to navigation control unit (2 screws).
