Time Allowance
General Time allowances have been calculated for the individual damage scenarios (see section 2.1 "Repairable Damage Scenarios") based on the number of cables being repaired or replaced. For the purpose of recording the time allowance, the operation number for replacement of the affected wiring harness is used in conjunction with TC: 87. TC: 87 indicates that the operation is a repair. Before commencing repairs, an estimate must be made of whether repairs are more economical than replacement of the wiring harness. The time allowances listed in section 6.2 intended for this purpose. These time allowances refer solely to repair of the wiring harness. Any preparatory activities required to gain access to the repair area are not included and must be considered separately. In this regard we suggest, as is also recommended for customer invoicing, that the time allowances provided in section 6.2 be listed together with the time allowances for the preparatory work and compared with the time allowance for replacement of the entire wiring harness. In warranty cases , the entire time allowance requirement (repair and preparatory work) is submitted under the operation number for the corresponding wiring harness replacement with TC: 87, although the total time allowance requirement for the repair must not exceed the time allowance for replacement of the entire wiring harness. Time allowances that slightly exceed the specification can be approved by entering the "Y" self-approval code. When calculating the economic feasibility for normal customer transactions , we recommend that the prices for the wiring harness and repair kit be included. The preparatory work can be identified with the regular main operation numbers.
