Observe Throttle valve angle in Display field 3.

Slowly open Throttle valve to Wide Open position and observe ignition angle in Display field 3.

Value must increase uniformly over complete range.

If specification obtained

Switch OFF ignition.

NOTE:  The displayed value is dependent on the Throttle Position sensor tolerances and does not correspond to the actual opening angle.

If value does not increase uniformly

Replace Throttle Control Module J338.

Match Engine Control Module to Throttle Control Module.
