Speed Sensitive Rear Spoiler - Noisy or Sticking

Rear spoiler noisy or sticking

The speed sensitive rear spoiler can be operated by a switch located to the left of the steering column. This switch is useful when checking and/or
servicing the spoiler.

In the event a spoiler is noisy or sticking, check the following:

^

check the spoiler for proper height adjustment to insure that the spoiler is level

^

remove any dirt and/or oil residue from the spoiler guide tubes

^

apply talcum powder or non-aerosol dry lube to the guide tubes and rubber seals in order to reduce spoiler operating friction

Note

DO NOT apply oil, silicone or grease based lubricants to the spoiler guide tubes or rubber seals. These products will attract dirt and airborne particles to
the guide tubes resulting in damage to the lift mechanism.
