Remove the spark plugs, using spark plug removal tool (3122 B).

Check the compression using compression tester (V.A.G 1763) and adapter (V.A.G 1763/6).
‹› Using the tester, refer to the operating instructions.

Operate the starter until the tester no longer indicates that the pressure is increasing.
Compression Pressure:

Install the sparks plugs, tightening specification. Refer to => [ Ignition System Component Overview ] See: Powertrain Management/Ignition

Install the ignition coils with power output stage. Refer to => [ Ignition Coils with Power Output Stages ] See: Powertrain Management/Ignition
System/Ignition Coil/Service and Repair.
‹› By separating the connections, Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are stored to memory. After the test, check the fault memory and erase, if
necessary.

Read the Engine Control Module (ECM) DTC memory using the vehicle diagnostic tester.
