Rear Lid Striker Pin with Closing Aid Motor

Removing

-

Remove rear lock carrier cover

-

Remove electrical connector - 4 - from closing aid.

-

Disengage emergency release cable - 2 - from striker pin - 1 -.

-

Remove bolts - 3 -.

-

Remove striker pin - 1 - from rear lock carrier.

-

Install striker pin - 1 - on rear lock carrier and position screws - 3 -.

Tightening torque: screws - 3 - 23 Nm

Further installation is in reverse order of removal.

Adjusting

-

Before the rear lid is closed, a function test of the locking components must be performed.

Striker Pin with Closing Aid Motor, Adjusting

NOTE:
-

When closing, rear lid must lock completely without further applied force and must have no play.

-

Rear lid must not be pushed to side when adjusting striker pin.

-

Striker pin is adjusted correctly when lid lock cut-out engages with detent centered on striker pin.

-

Striker pin with closing aid may only be adjusted in bottom position, "Rear lid closed".

-

The new part is delivered in "Rear lid closed" position.

-

Open rear lid and unlock rear lid lock with a screwdriver.
