Water Pump: Service and Repair

Coolant Pump

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Engine Support Bridge (10 - 222 A)

‹› Shackle (10 - 222 A/12)

‹› Adapter (10 - 222 A/18)

‹› Adapter (10 - 222 A/13)

‹› Bracket with Spindle and Hook (10 - 222 A/10)

‹› Refractometer (T10007)

‹› Drip Tray for VAS 6100 (VAS 6208)

‹› Torque Wrench (5-50 Nm) (V.A.G 1331)

‹› Torque Wrench (40-200 Nm) (V.A.G 1332)

‹› Spring Type Clip Pliers (VAS 5024 A)

Removing

-

Drain the coolant. Refer to => [ Draining and Filling ] See: Service and Repair/Procedures/Draining and Filling.

Remove right front sections of the wheel housing liners..

-

Remove the ribbed belt. Refer to => [ Ribbed Belt ] See: Engine/Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and
Repair/Ribbed Belt.

Install the (10 - 222A) with the (10 - 222 A/10), (10 - 222A/12), (10 - 222 A/13) and (10 - 222 A/18) as shown and support the engine in the
installed position at the right lift eye.
