Relay Carrier On Vehicle Electrical System Control Module, Left Instrument Panel

The relay carrier on the vehicle electrical system control module is located below the instrument panel in the driver footwell.

Vehicles through 05.09:

In vehicles to 05.09, the relay carrier on the vehicle electrical system control module and the Vehicle Electrical System Control Module (J519) are a
single component and can only be removed together. Removing and installing the relay carrier on the vehicle electrical system control module, to
05.09, refer to => [ Relay Carrier On Vehicle Electrical System Control Module, To 05.09 ]. 

Vehicles from 06.09:

The relay carrier on the vehicle electrical system control module is clipped to the vehicle electrical system control module underneath and can be
removed separately on vehicles built from 06.09. Relay Carrier on Vehicle Electrical System Control Module, from 06.09, removing and installing,

Relay Carrier On Vehicle Electrical System Control Module, To 05.09

The left relay carrier on the vehicle electrical system control module -  arrow - is located under the instrument panel on the left side.

‹› The vehicle electrical system control module and the relay carrier on the vehicle electrical system control module on the left side of the instrument

panel are one component and cannot be separated.

‹› If vehicle electrical system control module or the relay carrier is to be replaced, the work procedure to read out the codes stored in the module

must always be performed. Refer to => [ Vehicle Electrical System Control Module, Coding, Through 05.09 ] See: Testing and
Inspection/Programming and Relearning. 

Removing:

-

Switch off ignition, switch off all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.

Remove the fuse panel.

Slide connector securing latch - 1 - of the relay carrier on the vehicle electrical system control module in the - direction of the arrow -.
