Seat Belt: Service and Repair

Front Seat Belts

Front Seat Belts

‹› Removal and installation is described for the left-hand side of the vehicle. Removal and installation for the right-hand side is performed in the

same manner.

Removing

CAUTION!
Observe safety precautions for belt tensioners. Refer to => [ Belt Tensioners Safety Precautions ] See: Seat Belt Tensioner/Service

Disconnect vehicle battery.

Remove seat bench. Refer to => [ Bench Seat ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Rear Seats.

Remove side trim. Refer to => [ Side Trim ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Trim Panel/Service and Repair/Side Trim

Remove the two screws - 8 - and remove seatbelt guide -  9 - from body.

CAUTION!
Electrostatic charges may result in involuntary deployment of the belt tensioner. Therefore the technician must discharge static electricity
from the body before separating the ignition and ground wiring. This is done e.g. by briefly touching the body or the door striker or pin.

Disconnect wiring harness - 5 - and remove screw -  6 -.

-

Remove belt inertia wheels - 7 - from body.
