Remote Battery Jumper Terminal: Service and Repair

External Starter Point with Suppressor

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

-

Torque wrench V.A.G 1331

Removing

-

Turn off the ignition and all electrical components.

-

Disconnect battery.

NOTE:  Air filter housing is removed for reasons of clarity. It is not required when doing repairs.

-

Disengage retaining clip - arrow A - and open cover - 1 - over positive pole pick-up.

-

Disengage cover - 2 - over electrical wires in - direction of arrow B -.

-

Remove mounting nuts - 5 - and - 6 - on positive wires.

-

Disconnect electrical harness connector - 1 - at suppressor - 4 -.

-

Remove bolt - 3 - and remove positive pole pick-up - 2 - with suppressor from retainer.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal.

-

Tighten all threaded connections to specified tightening torque.

-

Reconnect battery.
