Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Torque screwdriver (V.A.G 1624)

Removing:

-

Remove generator, refer to => [ Generator ] See: Alternator/Description and Operation.

-

Remove the mounting bolt and nuts - arrows - (4.5 Nm) and remove the cap from the generator.

-

Remove mounting bolts of voltage regulator - arrows - (2 Nm).

-

Take voltage regulator out of generator.

Installing:

Install in reverse order of removal.

Tighten all threaded connections to the specification shown in => [ General Tightening Specifications for All Vehicles ] See:
Specifications/General Tightening Specifications For All Vehicles.
