Wiring Harness: Service Precautions
Safety Precautions
CAUTION:
Before beginning repairs on the electrical system:

Where applicable, obtain the Anti-Theft radio security code.

Switch off all electrical consumers.

Switch ignition off and remove ignition key.

Disconnect battery.
-
When disconnecting and reconnecting battery terminals, observe all applicable Notes and torque specifications, as well as instructions on
performing OBD program and electrical system function checks as specified in Electrical Equipment.

Not adhering to proper disconnection sequence on vehicles equipped with Main Battery Switch E74 will result in the deactivation of, and
subsequent damage to electrical system components.

Airbag and safety belt tensioner harness and connector repairs must only be performed using VAS 1978 Wiring Harness Repair Kit VAS
1978 Instruction Manual.
