Condition

Steering Angle Sensor, Cannot be Adapted

Steering angle sensor cannot be adapted after the steering wheel electronics module -J527- has been replaced.

Service

To verify the correct part has been received, the part number that is stamped on the case must be compared to part number recovered with the scan tool.

If a fault log has been printed since the part was installed:

Compare part number under "Steering Column Electronics" to component part number

If a fault log has not been printed since -J527- replacement, perform the following:

Select "Vehicle Self Diagnosis"

Select "On Board Diagnostics (OBD)"

^

Select "16 - Steering Wheel Electronics"

^

Review part number in upper right hand of screen to verify the index is Not "AM". If "AM" is shown, replace the -J527-.
