Transmission Speed Sensor: Service and Repair

Transmission Input Speed and Clutch Oil Temperature Sensors

Short Description

Both sensors are combined into one component and can only be replaced together. They are coated with oil in transmission near multi plate clutch.
Before removing, the direct shift gearbox (DSG) mechatronic must be removed. 

Often, the sensor cable is pulled. This damages it. If cable was pulled, sensor must be replaced.

Removing

Remove DSG mechatronic. Refer to => [ Mechatronic, with Transmission Installed ] See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/02E

CAUTION!
Do not pull on wire!

Remove screw and carefully pry out sensor with screwdriver or pliers. 

Installing

Only install old sensor if it is certain that:

‹› Sensor functions properly.

‹› Sensor wire was not pulled during removal.

Otherwise, install a NEW sensor.

Insert sensor coated with DSG oil.

Tighten screw to 10 Nm.
