Pull out stub or flange shaft together with the compression spring.

Pry out the seal.

Installing

-

Lightly oil the new seal on the outer circumference.

-

Fill the area between the sealing lip and dust lip halfway with sealing grease (G 052 128).

-

Using (3377), drive the new seal in until seated; be sure not to distort the seal.

-

Install the stub or flange shaft.

-

Install a new bolt for securing the stub or flange shaft and tighten it to 30 Nm.

Vehicles with a Intermediate Shaft

-

Replace the O-ring on the stub shaft.

-

Grease the splines on the stub shaft using grease for clutch disc splines (G 000 100).

-

Guide the intermediate shaft - B - through the mounting bracket - C - onto the transmission stub shaft.
