Condition

Windshield Washer Pump Test Procedure

After final control diagnosis of washer pump using Vehicle Self-Diagnosis/09 Central Electrics Unit, washer pump is inoperative.

Technical Background

Vehicles without rear windshield wipers are manufactured with mono-pumps. As a result, activation while using Vehicle Self-Diagnosis Output
Diagnosis Test can fail, damaging washer pump.

Production Solution

No production change required.

Service

NOTE:

DO NOT use Vehicle Self-Diagnosis to test windshield washer pump. Use Guided Fault Finding function component selection instead.

Proper washer pump function must be verified after diagnostic procedures are completed. Washer pumps damaged by improper testing may be debited.
